EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS SERVICES MISSION STATEMENT
To ensure the City is ready and able to mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from the effects of major emergencies that threaten lives, property, and the environment by:
- Conducting comprehensive safety education programs for the public.
- Training City employees regarding their Disaster Service Worker roles and responsibilities; and
- Administering inter-agency coordination and collaborative activities that assist in the City’s emergency management efforts

Household Go Kit
Pack the essentials for a “Go Kit” in case you need to evacuate your home in an emergency. Most items are in your home (like a change of clothes) or can purchased inexpensively and can be stored near the front door in a backpack. Click on the link for a list of items:
Pets Go Kit
Don’t forget the furry and feathered family members! Here is a special “Pet Go Kit” list just for them. Like the Household Go Kit most items are things you already have, and the rest are easy to get. Keep this Go Kit near the front door too.
