This week on ‘We Work For You’, we’re highlighting Blake Glazebrook! He’s a firefighter at Station 3 in Downtown Fresno. Blake has been serving his community his entire adult life – he joined the Air National Guard straight out of high school and still serves there in a part-time role while fighting fires in Fresno. He says he joined the military searching for a group that would bond like a family – and he found that with the Fresno Fire Department. Thank you for your service to your country and to Fresno, Blake!
Mike Murphy
This week on ‘We Work For You’, we’re highlighting Mike Murphy! Mike is a Park Ranger in the northeast sector, where he provides information, education, and general assistance to parkgoers at City parks – including Woodward! Mike says this job gives him the opportunity to meet people he wouldn’t normally meet, which is something he treasures – and he says he approaches every interaction with a smile and upbeat attitude because you never know how much it could impact a person. Jasleen Sanghera
This week on ‘We Work For You’, we’re highlighting Jasleen Sanghera! She’s a Community Outreach Specialist with Fresno PD, where she works in the Duty Office. She schedules officers and sergeants, ensuring that sick time is covered, trainings are completed, and minimum staffing levels are met across the city. By keeping staffing levels met, she makes sure districts are staffed and patrolled – and that means a safer city for everyone. Thank you for all you do, Jasleen!
Edgar Diaz
This week on ‘We Work For You’, we’re highlighting Edgar Diaz! He’s an electrician leadworker with the Traffic Signal and Streetlight Division. When weather and traffic accidents cause traffic signals to go down, Edgar and the team get to work and ensure that traffic continues moving smoothly and safely in Fresno. He says that keeping people safe on their way home is his number one priority – thank you for all you do, Edgar!
Mariposa Plaza Groundbreaking
The Mariposa Plaza Activation project revitalizes a significant downtown plaza. The upgrades encompass tree planting, landscaping, lighting enhancements, the installation of permeable paving, two stages, a shade structure, and related utility improvements. The plaza will continue to serve its historical purpose as a gathering place for public speaking and community events
MLK Park Groundbreaking
The scope of work includes the construction and development of a ten-acre park and a new public street (West Creek Village Way). The new ten-acre park will be located in the center of a planned mixed-use development. The park design consists of the installation of drought tolerant planting, perimeter bioswales, natural grass turf, 100 trees, walking paths, irrigation from reclaimed water, a restroom, a themed playground, utilities, infrastructure, various park furnishing. The public street construction includes a perimeter loop road, which extends off Church Avenue, and will tie into the future private development. The road consists of site utilities (water, sewer, storm drain, and recycled water), drainage, sidewalks, street lighting, curb, and gutter.


Peach Avenue Widening Project


Groundbreaking ceremony for the Peach Avenue Widening Project. This phase of the project will widen Peach Avenue between Butler and Florence Avenues from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided arterial with median landscaping, curb, gutter, sidewalk, and streetlights. The project will also include the installation of new traffic signal facilities at Peach and Hamilton, improvements to the railroad crossing, water distribution, sanitary sewers, roadway pavement sections, and bike lanes.

If you lost something while flying out of Fresno Yosemite International Airport, don’t worry! Brigitte Aragon and her team have your back!
One of her job duties is to oversee the airport’s lost and found. There were 2,000 items lost at the airport in 2023, and she works hard to unite those items with their owners. She also has fond memories of flying out of the airport as a child and says she’s happy to work in the place where she made those memories!
