When will the City tree in front of my residence be trimmed?

A “City street tree” is a tree planted within the City right-of-way (ROW), located in landscape strips between the curb sidewalk or in dedicated planting areas within the City ROW. The City strives to trim street trees on a 10-year cycle. Our goal is to retain a green canopy while ensuring City vehicles like garbage trucks, street sweepers, buses, and emergency vehicles have safe access. If a property owner wishes to have a tree trimmed out of cycle, they may download and submit a Forestry Permit. The permit must be approved by the Landscape Divisions, Forestry group and work must be performed by a licensed tree trimmer. All costs for out of cycle tree trims are the responsibility of the homeowner. Additional information can be found on the City website under Streets Trees & Forestry.
