From sunrise walks to Animal Olympics, every activity helps campers explore like a critter and care like a ranger. |
Mysteries of the Sierras
Campers become Sierra Investigators, exploring the big mysteries above them and the hidden mysteries all around them – practicing observation, critical thinking, and stewardship . Stargazer Summit Overnight, campers turn the night sky into a living science lab, building sundials, learning star patterns, and creating their own constellation legends under the Sierra stars. Wildlife Detectives Day, campers follow tracks, scat, and habitat clues to figure out which animals share our forest—and how to protect them. |
Nature Explorers
Camp Fresno becomes a hands-on Nature Lab! Nature Explorer Lab Overnight, campers spend a night under the pines testing simple science experiments, comparing leaves and soil, creating nature mandalas, and starting a shared ‘Explorer Notebook’ of drawings, questions, and discoveries. Nature Explorer Lab Day, campers become junior scientists and artists. |
Eco-Campions
Campers become eco-champions at Camp Fresno by stepping into real leadership roles while taking action to protect the places they love. Sierra Leaders Overnight, campers practice real leadership skills: listening, including others, and turning ideas into action. Eco-Champions: Leave No Trace Adventure Day, campers practice how to lead with kindness, work as a team, and care for the forest and trails they explore. |
Junior Rangers
Campers become Junior Rangers, learning how to find their way, stay safe on the trail, and care for the forest. Junior Rangers Navigation & Trail Day, campers complete short guided hikes, easy navigation challenges, and trail games that highlight safety, listening, and teamwork. |
Star Futures Summit
Teen campers step into real leadership roles as they help shape the future of Camp Fresno. Summit & Stars: Teen Leadership Overnight Quest, campers take on navigation challenges, team quests, and late-night campfire circles while designing their dream teen camp in collaboration with our Youth Advisory Group. Wildlife Biologists in Training Day, campers head into the field as scientists, tracking local wildlife, collecting real data, and testing ideas for future nature- and conservation-focused teen sessions. Star Paths & Survivor Navigation Challenge Day, campers push their problem-solving and outdoor skills on a navigation course powered by maps, compasses, and constellations—then turn what they learned into new adventure concepts for upcoming summers. |
