Mayor Brand Statement on FFA Convention in Fresno

Mayor Lee Brand released the following statement on the announcement from the California Future Farmers of America that they are planning to hold their next state convention in Anaheim:

“Fresno State President Dr. Joe Castro and I met with an FFA official this afternoon and had a very productive conversation. We understand that their annual convention has grown substantially over the years and that they are looking for venues that could accommodate their future needs.

“Dr. Castro and I agreed to continue working on a proposal to keep the state FFA convention in the agricultural heart of California, including assessing local facilities, housing and other amenities. We plan to engage area agriculture leaders and other local agencies to provide a competitive package that expands our ability to successfully host this state convention and deliver the best possible experience for the California FFA and its local chapters.”
