The City of Fresno, Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will update the program called ViewFresno (also internally known as iVIEW) on or around July 1, 2025.

In 2004, ViewFresno was created as an online web-accessible mapping and geo-referenced information retrieval service for internal City of Fresno staff to use for verifying construction as-builts, utility services, and for planning future developments. Through the years, ViewFresno has grown vastly to include past and present information on parcels, streets, City boundaries, etc.

Presently, ViewFresno is being used by many internal City of Fresno staff as well as private sector businesses and other government agencies. As many components of the software are outdated, the City will no longer be able to support it. Furthermore, since the program is web-based, access to sensitive data is a security concern. To use ViewFresno, both internal and external users are required to have a login access as well as acknowledge a nondisclosure agreement.

Therefore, ViewFresno will be replaced by another platform with similar capabilities with higher security measures. Our Information Services Department (ISD) will be creating a website which will host a map component along with only specific pertinent data. In addition, the existing online subscription fee will remain in effect as noted in the City’s Master Fee Schedule.

During the transition to the new platform, there will not be an interruption to the service. We acknowledge that there will be a beta testing period and appreciate your patience.
