regularly scheduled hours for recreation and special events.

For those community members who would like to utilize the Warming Centers and need transportation, they may access any FAX bus and tell the driver they would like to go to the nearest Warming Center and receive a ride to the neighborhood of the Center, free of charge.


City of Fresno Resolution # 2023-320 requires that the City operate community centers as warming and cooling centers according to the requirements set forth in the ordinance. The determination to open centers is made according to the forecast issued by the National Weather Service’s San Joaquin Valley Office, which can be viewed at https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=36.7317&lon=-119.7859.

According to the ordinance, cooling centers will open when temperatures are forecasted to reach or exceed 105 degrees Fahrenheit and will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Warming centers will open when temperatures are forecasted to drop below 35 degrees and will be open from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
