Position Descriptions: The PARCS Department is looking for creative, caring and enthusiastic individuals who want to utilize their talents and skills to positively impact the social, physical, emotional and cognitive well-being of our community! Neighborhood Park

Recreation Leader: Incumbents assigned to the Neighborhood Park Program will work at a city park providing various recreation services and activities for youth and adults, e.g., arts & crafts, sports, fitness, drama, dance, group games, etc. The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge and experience in programming and implementing various recreation activities, first aid methods and working with various ethnicities and age groups. Minimum qualifications required: High School diploma or GED equivalent and basic knowledge of recreation activities. Pay Rate: $10 per hour.

Adult Sports Official: Incumbent assigned to the Adult Sports Program will umpire or referee softball slow-pitch, fast-pitch and
basketball games at the Regional Sports Complex or at a city park. Minimum qualifications required: the ideal candidate should
have basic knowledge and experience officiating organized games. Certification will be required upon employment. Pay rate: $15-
$20 per game.

Youth Sports Coach: Youth Sports include Indoor and Outdoor soccer, basketball and t-ball. Coaching takes place on Saturdays from
8am-5pm and during the t-ball season M-Th evenings. Basic knowledge of each sport is recommended but not required. Patient,
enthusiastic, interactive and friendly coaches are needed to teach young children ages 3-6 the basic fundamentals and skills required
to play each sport. Coaches must be able to relate to the children and express the clear goal of recreation leagues which is to learn,
have fun and be included. Pay Rate: $10 per hour.

Skateboard & BMX Parks Leader: Incumbents assigned to the Action Sports Program will monitor Mosqueda Bike Park, Lions Skate
Park and Todd Beamer Concrete Park. Staff will be responsible for enforcing the helmet rule, cleaning, opening/closing, and making
sure participants are safe and following park etiquette and rules. The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge and experience
with the Action Sports culture, park etiquette, teaching instructional classes, first aid methods, and working with various ethnicities
and age groups. Minimum qualifications required: High School diploma or GED equivalent and basic knowledge of recreation
activities. Pay Rate: $10 per hour.

Summer Camp Leader: Camp Leaders must be able to communicate and work effectively with staff, parents and participants and be
able to lead, give direction, implement, conduct and participate in specific planned activities. These activities may include sports,
games, arts and crafts, science, nutrition and cooking, trips and special events. Staff will further assist with set-up and clean-up of
all activities, assure that children are well supervised and following the rules and regulations for the safety of all, and must enjoy
working with children ages five to twelve years. Prior experience working with youth is preferred. The camps run Monday – Friday.

Pay Rate: $10 per hour.
