Immigrant Affairs Committee (IAC)

The City of Fresno formed the Immigrant Affairs Committee (IAC) in 2019 to address the needs of Fresno’s diverse immigrant community. Fresno’s economic, cultural, and civic vitality depends on immigrants from all over the world. The Immigrant Affairs Committee’s mission is to provide the Fresno City Council and the Mayor’s Office with recommendations on how to foster immigrant community engagement in civic affairs while improving the quality of life of immigrants in our community. The guidance provided by the Immigrant Affairs Committee has one primary goal, and that is to enhance the quality of life for Fresno’s immigrant community.

Our vision is that through the recommendations of the Immigrant Affairs Committee, the City of Fresno develops and adopt equitable policies and practices that enrich our city through an integrated, engaged, resilient, and healthy immigrant population. The City of Fresno has the unique opportunity to utilize and implement recommendations from the Immigrant Affairs Committee to assist Fresno’s immigrant community and enrich the quality of life for all of Fresno.
