Parks, After School, Recreation and Community Services
“Destination Fresno, a place to live work play and vacation!"
The Parks, After School, Recreation and Community Services Department is dedicated to creating community through people, parks, and programs. We strive to enrich the lives of Fresno citizens by investing in park and open space development for recreation opportunities, and by providing diverse opportunities for human development and social interaction. We provide recreation programs, encompassing all age groups from preschool to seniors. We maintain and operate three regional parks; community and neighborhood parks throughout Fresno; pocket parks and regional trails; public grounds in Downtown Fresno, including Fulton and Mariposa malls; and operate the Veterans Memorial Auditorium. We are active in the development of new green space and rehabilitation of existing facilities, which improves recreational opportunities and enhances economic growth by attracting businesses and improving real estate value.
