Friant Road Improvement Project to Impact Traffic Beginning May 20
Fresno, CA – Road improvements on Friant Road between Chaplain and Copper will impact traffic in that area beginning Monday, May 20, until June 27.

Temporary striping work will begin on Wednesday, May 15. The improvement work will begin on Monday, May 20, with removal and replacement of concrete. The concrete removal and replacement portion of the project will continue until Monday, June 10. During that time, traffic will be reduced to one lane each direction between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. for northbound Friant and 9 7 p.m. for southbound Friant.

Paving operations will begin on Tuesday, June 11, and are expected to be completed by Thursday, June 27. Traffic will be moved to one side of the median island with one lane in each direction. Work will be performed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. for this phase.

The $1.5 million project is funded primarily through a competitive federal grant program.
