01/28/13  San Francisco Giants World Championship Trophy Tour
The San Francisco Giants World Championship Trophy Tour presented by Bank of America will continue its three-month public tour in Fresno this February 5, 2013. Fans will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the trophies and to support their local Junior Giants Baseball League by making a voluntary contribution during the trophy viewing. This will be the second public trophy tour held in the past three years. >more

01/24/13  Fresno City Manager Issues Statement on Moody's Downgrade
FRESNO -- Moody's International yesterday announced that it has downgraded the City of Fresno's lease revenue and pension obligation bonds from Baa1 to Ba1 and Ba2 ratings. This is another in a series of troublesome downgrades of the City's debt reflecting the financial community's ongoing concerns about the City's fiscal condition. FRESNO – City of Fresno officials today released the following statement regarding a lawsuit related to the City’s adoption of a residential solid waste franchise:“The City is prepared to address each issue raised by its residential solid waste labor unions and is confident the franchise process undertaken by the City was within its Charter and statutory authority.
