City of Fresno Launches New Website to Promote Fresno Food Processing Industry
FRESNO – Mayor Ashley Swearengin today announced the launch of www.fresnofood.org, a new website dedicated to food processing companies and companies serving the food processing industry that are looking to expand or locate in Fresno.
The website features the slogan, “Fresno is your connection to the freshest ideas in food.” It is a user-friendly site where site locators, CEOs, entrepreneurs and anyone involved in the food processing industry can look to find all the information they need about doing business in Fresno.
“Fresno is the best place for food-related businesses to start, expand or locate in Fresno, and this new website will help us tell the world about what we have to offer,” Mayor Swearengin said.
“Our story is a compelling one. We are in the heart of the largest agriculture region in the world, and we provide access to the rapidly growing population of the West and the Pacific Rim. We have an abundant workforce with excellent training and educational institutions. We have a competitively structured water and sewer rate program to customize customers’ bills to fit their needs.
“And we have plenty of successful food businesses already headquartered in Fresno, creating a concentration of expertise and a network of firms that really go great things together to promote the industry.”
The site offers all of the logistical information food processing companies will be looking for, including the cost for sewer, wastewater and electricity. In addition, it offers information about the area’s workforce, labor wages, the cost of living, and educational institutions that offer training programs geared toward the food processing industry.
The City of Fresno sits in the middle of the San Joaquin Valley’s $77.2-billion agricultural industry that provides more than 63 percent of California’s commodities and often is referred to as the “Breadbasket of the World.”
