Join Mayor Swearengin at Wassabi for Local Bites Night
09/26/2011

On Tuesday, September 27, 2011, Mayor Swearengin will be dining at Wassabi, 1085 E. Herndon, for Local Bites night. Residents are encouraged to join Mayor Swearengin at Wassabi starting at 5:30 p.m. and enjoy one of Fresno’s great locally owned restaurants.

“Local Bites is a fun and easy way that all Fresno residents can take part in supporting our local economy,” Mayor Swearengin said. “Not only does Local Bites give Fresno residents an opportunity to try some of Fresno’s great locally owned restaurants, but 45 cents of every dollar we spend at a Local Bites night will be re-circulated back into our local economy.”

Local Bites is a partnership between the City of Fresno and Taste Fresno to support locally owned businesses. Previous events have been held at the original Dicicco’s downtown, Limon Peruvian Cuisine and Javier’s Mexican Restaurant.

Mayor Swearengin will be at Piazza del Pane in October and Richard’s Prime Rib and Seafood in November for Local Bites events. She also will be at Huckleberry’s in December for the first Local Bites breakfast.

All of the dates and additional information on the Local Bites Night schedule is posted on the Taste Fresno website at www.TasteFresno.com/localbites. If you’re planning to join Mayor Swearengin, just remember – when it comes to the bill, you’re on your own!
