FRESNO, CA – The Mayor’s Community Advisory Panel (CAP) is pleased to announce the sixth town hall meeting with Mayor Ashley Swearengin and Fresno residents on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Central Fresno.
This town hall will have a different format from previous events. Mayor Swearengin will make brief introductory remarks, and participants can then to go a number of information stations that will provide an opportunity to talk with City officials about issues such as home energy audits, downtown revitalization, neighborhood clean-up, bus service, public safety, local business initiatives, Fresno First Steps Home, Serve Fresno, the Adopt-a-Park program and other PARCS efforts, graffiti and public works issues such as sidewalks, potholes and street maintenance.
Councilmember Clint Olivier, who represents the council district in which the town hall meeting will be held, will welcome residents and also participate in the event.
The Mayor’s Community Advisory Panel was created to enhance citizen participation in civic affairs through the development of programs such as the Fresno Citizens Academy, town hall meetings, and other outreach efforts.
