EARTH HOUR 2010: CITY OF FRESNO PLANS FOR ‘LIGHTS OUT’
In support of the international Earth Hour 2010 effort, the City of Fresno will be ‘fading to black’ this Saturday for the second year in a row. With the exception of lights that are necessary for safety, City Hall, employee work stations and the historic water tower will go dark on Saturday night, March 27. Fresno will join communities across the country and internationally by turning off lights to support sustainability and a healthier planet.
In March of 2009, over 4,000 cities across 88 countries officially ‘switched off’ for an hour to pledge their support, making Earth Hour 2009 the largest global climate initiative ever. Hoping to set a new record, this global call to action targets every individual, business and community around the globe.
