City Technology Practices Earn Statewide Recognition

An Award for Excellence in Information Technology Practices has been presented to the City of Fresno by the Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC). The award recognizes local government agencies for exceeding industry standards in the efficient and innovative use of information technology.

The award signifies that the City of Fresno Information Services Department has been rated “outstanding” in six MISAC standards, including budget, strategic planning, web services, customer satisfaction, governance and security. The Information Services Department includes 55 employees who serve the community by developing, implementing and supporting information technology systems and networks throughout the City of Fresno.

“It is an honor to receive this award because it acknowledges the efforts and innovation of every employee in the department as well as the sound strategies implemented on a daily basis to support the city’s technology operations.” said Carolynn Hogg, Chief Information Officer.

MISAC is a statewide organization with over 200 member agencies. Fewer than 10% of all agency members earned the organization’s award this year. ”The Excellence in Information Technology Practices Award is highly regarded and MISAC congratulates the City of Fresno Information Services Department on this achievement,” said Bryon Horn, State Board President of MISAC.
