City of Fresno Launches “Going Green to Save Green” for Businesses
01/25/2010

The City of Fresno Solid Waste Division has partnered with KJWL 99.3 FM to encourage local business to recycle. For a limited time, any local business that signs a new agreement with the City of Fresno to implement a recycling program will receive $1,000 of free air-time on KJWL 99.3 FM.

“Many items that are often thrown away at the office can be recycled, and for most businesses recycling services cost less than solid waste pick up,” said Solid Waste’s Public Affairs Officer Ken Shockley. “Our goal is to get as many businesses in Fresno recycling as possible, and this partnership offers a great incentive to ‘Go Green to Save Green’.”

The City of Fresno Solid Waste Division staff are available to help evaluate an office to determine what’s recyclable, which bin and pick-up schedule is right for the business, and educate staff on the program. All businesses that participate in the recycling program are eligible for the Mayor’s Business Recycling Award.

The number of promotional awards available for new customers is limited, so don’t delay. For more information, or to sign up for a business recycling program, please contact the Solid Waste Division at (559) 621-1111.
