This corporation is formed for scientific, educational, and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue Law). The Immigration Rights March is scheduled to begin at 5:30PM on the Fulton Mall and proceed east on Tulare Street, north onto ‘P’ Street, and west onto Fresno Street – ending back at the Fulton Mall. | In the Garden of the Sun: California's San Joaquin Valley The City of Fresno’s Planning and Development Department and the Fresno Historical Society are co-sponsoring the annual conference of the Vernacular Architecture Forum (VAF) May 7-10, 2008. The VAF is a national organization of scholars, professionals and graduate students with an interest in regional building, historic landscapes and cultural heritage. Each year a conference is held in some part of the United States or Canada --- this is only the second time in 30 years that the group has held its annual meeting in California.Over the four days, conferees will attend lectures, take themed tours of the area and enjoy numerous meals that highlight our region’s ethnic heritage, including a catered lunch by the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church >more |

| Passenger traffic at Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FYI) continues to be on the upswing despite a slowing economy, high fuel prices, and airline bankruptcies. In February, a total of 93,529 passengers traveled through FYI reflecting a 9.19% increase over February 2007. >more |

| Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FYI) is excited to celebrate the one-year anniversary with ExpressJet for providing direct service from FYI to Long Beach, Ontario and San Diego.To commemorate their anniversary, ExpressJet is hosting a public party at the Elbow Room Thursday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. | The Parks, After School, Recreation & Community Services Department (PARCS) together with the Fresno Unified School District would like to invite the media to attend Fresno’s Inaugural Youth Leadership Symposium on Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 9am to Noon in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The first time event will bring together 130 aspiring youth leaders from Fresno’s 11 high schools and 7 of the middle schools to give them an opportunity to meet and be mentored by city leaders with a means of positively supporting and inspiring them to become future agents of change in their schools and community.The opening session will feature brief presentations by several of Fresno’s Mayoral candidates, acquainting students with their distinct political platforms. >more |

| On April 7, construction will begin on the much anticipated Airport Baggage Claim Expansion and Terminal Remodel projects. In addition to the expansion and remodel, the “Sense of Place” theming project, specifically designed to reflect the personality of the region with replicas of the nearby giant Sequoia trees, will also begin. To minimize the impact to passenger baggage collection during the facility expansion, one baggage claim carousel will remain in service at all times. >more |
