City Of Fresno Will Host Forum On Crucial Water Issues And Needs

Water issues and problems that seem to constantly multiply in their number and complexity will be in the spotlight of a Water Forum to be hosted by the City of Fresno on Friday, February 1. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

“The City of Fresno is in the midst of many of these situations and Fresno residents stand to be affected by water-related decisions that are in the process of being made,” said Alan Autry, Mayor of Fresno. “This forum will help inform elected officials and key staff members from Central California’s cities and counties on water issues and what they mean to the people we serve.

The Water Forum will be conducted through the efforts of the California Latino Water Coalition, Association of California Water Agencies and California Department of Water Resources. It will be held from 8:30 am-12:30 pm in the Fresno Convention Center’s Valdez Exhibit Hall in downtown Fresno.

The program will cover a number of timely topics. Mayor Autry, who helped sponsor a similar program in 2004, said he hopes the Fresno event will lead to similar Water Forums in Southern California and the Bay Area. “We have a number of recognized and respected leaders lined up to speak,” the Mayor said.
