Fresno’s Park Voted Best Family-Friendly Park & Recreation Area In The Central Valley
The City of Fresno Department of Parks, After School, Recreation and Community Services (PARCS) is excited to announce that Woodward Park has again been designated the Central Valley’s #1 family friendly park & recreation area! This distinction, awarded to Woodward Park for the third consecutive year, was announced in the June issue of the Central California Parent Magazine which hit newsstands today. More than 90,000 readers judged Woodward Park the best!
In addition, Fresno PARCS is pleased to note that Roeding Park has climbed in public ratings as well, this year ranking 3rd in the Central Valley. “Over three years ago, Mayor Autry and the Fresno City Council gave Fresno PARCS an objective to make our parks more green, clean and safe and this poll tells me that the community has recognized and enjoys the changes that have made,” said PARCS Director Randall Cooper. “Roeding has new restrooms, better lighting, a dog park, perimeter fencing and police cameras; Woodward now has a Bike Complex, a Mountain Bike Park, shaded tot lots and a beautifully renovated Rotary Amphitheater.”
The City of Fresno would like to thank the Central California Parent Magazine for giving the community a chance applaud to the rich resources available locally and for helping PARCS make Fresno a Destination: a great place to live, work, play and vacation!
