City Seeks Community Input On Transit Oriented Development Project
01/23/2008

The City of Fresno and ROEM Development Corporation will be hosting community meetings to solicit public input and comments on the soon to be developed Transit Village. This progressive project will be located on Kings Canyon Road between Peach and Adler in southeast Fresno. The first of two meetings will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, with a second to be scheduled in April.

Transit Village is a City-sponsored transit oriented development that will consist of a multimodal transportation center with a passenger lounge, public park space with local art and abundant landscaping, and Palm View Gardens, a senior housing complex. Palm View Gardens is planned with 129 affordable senior rental housing units to be nestled in a lush garden-like setting.

The City and ROEM are committed to providing useful and meaningful details about the project to the community that will promote constructive feedback, ensuring that public input is reflected in the completed development.

Public participation is vital to the success of the development; therefore, the City and ROEM would like to encourage residents, businesses, and neighborhood organizations to participate.

The January 30, 2008 meeting will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Sunnyside High School Cafeteria, located at 1019 South Peach in Fresno.
