08/30/07  Roeding’s Lake Washington To Be Refilled
The City of Fresno Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) is pleased to announce that the Parks Division will begin refilling Roeding Park’s Lake Washington on Friday evening August 31st. It is expected to take 5-7 days to refill an estimated 4.5 million gallons of water through a four-inch pipe that will draw from the park’s non-potable irrigation wells. >more

08/29/07  City Of Fresno Cooling Centers Will Be Open Today Through Saturday
With temperatures expected to be extremely hot and unhealthy over the next few days, the City of Fresno would like to encourage residents to take advantage of one of 11 cooling center locations open today through Saturday. The Centers will be open from Noon until 10pm each day. In addition, Fresno Area Express (FAX) will provide transportation to the closest center for residents via the scheduled bus routes. >more

08/23/07  Mayor Autry Calls For Applicants To Serve On the Utility Advisory Committee
Mayor Autry is asking residents or business owners interesting in serving on the Utility Advisory Committee to complete an application and submit it to the Office of the Mayor by Friday, September 7, 2007. The Utility Advisory Committee (UAC) will consist of 11 community members to serve as the principal public advisory committee with regard to utility issues for the City’s five public utilities – water, wastewater, sewer maintenance, solid waste and community sanitation. Committee members are appointed by the Mayor (4 appointees) and the City Council members (1 appointee each) for a total of 11 UAC members. >more

08/22/07  Woodward Park Road Conversion Update
The City of Fresno Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) would like to advise the public of a new time-line for the road conversion project at Woodward Park: Due to unforeseen mechanical equipment failure, the Woodward Park one-way to two-way conversion will not be completed for the original intended opening of Saturday August 25th. However, the City of Fresno would like to have residents enjoy the park over the weekend so Woodward will re-open Saturday and Sunday for one last weekend with one-way vehicle traffic. The park will then be closed again on Monday 8/27 to allow crews to complete the striping needed to officially convert the park to two-way traffic. >more
