Elected Officials, Business and Civic Leaders to Hold Press Conference in Fresno to Support Governor’s Water Proposal
A press conference to voice broad support for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Comprehensive Water Plan. Several key figures in the San Joaquin Valley will speak in favor of the Governor’s $5.9 billion proposal, including his goal of placing a bond measure before California voters next year.
Speakers will describe how the Governor’s plan to add water storage and conveyance is vitally needed throughout the San Joaquin Valley and all of California. The Governor’s plan also includes a new reservoir at Temperance Flat behind Millerton Lake.

Elected officials, business and civic leaders from around the San Joaquin Valley including Fresno Mayor Alan Autry, State Senator Dave Cogdill, Assembly member Juan Arambula, County Supervisors from Fresno, Tulare and Madera Counties as well as more than 30 other mayors, council members, chamber of commerce leaders, farm bureau representatives, business leaders, water representatives, labor and agriculture/farmers.
Political figures gathered at the historic Fresno Memorial Auditorium including Fresno Mayor Autry, Senator Cogdill, Assembly member Juan Arambula, several members of the California Latino Water Coalition and local leaders in business, agriculture/farming and labor.
