STRONG WINDS, DOWNED TREES FORCE PARK CLOSURE
03/27/2007

Effective 3:30pm today, the Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services has closed Roeding Park for the safety of the public. Saturated grounds and heavy wind patterns are to blame for the loss of a large Eucalyptus and a large Pine tree inside the park. No one was injured and crews are working quickly to remove the trees and prevent further damage. Provided the strong winds subside, the park will re-open Wednesday morning at 6:00am. PRCS advises that the public use caution when entering any park during inclement weather and take notice of their proximity to large trees and light poles. Woodward Park is still open at this time.
