Roeding’s Lake Washington To Be Refilled

The City of Fresno Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) is pleased to announce that the Parks Division will begin refilling Roeding Park’s Lake Washington on Friday evening August 31st. It is expected to take 5-7 days to refill an estimated 4.5 million gallons of water through a four-inch pipe that will draw from the park’s non-potable irrigation wells.

The Parks Division has hired a Marine Biologist who will be adding two additional fountains and an aeration system to the lake to control future build up of the algae and silt. The Parks Division will also be supplying additional park staff using a boat to remove trash and debris from the lake on a weekly basis. PRCS is committed to maintaining Lake Washington for all Valley residents to enjoy.
