150 Vendors And More Than 5,000 People Expected To Attend Mayor’s Career & Education Expo

The City of Fresno Department of Parks Recreation & Community Services (PRCS) would like to invite the media to join Mayor Alan Autry and PRCS Director Randy Cooper as they welcome an incredible 150 employers, educational institutions and thousands of participants to the Mayor’s Career & Education Expo on Wednesday, September 5th at 10:00 a.m. at the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center.

The Expo, which will be held at the new Exhibit Hall, features ten career development workshops including: ‘The Basics of Entering the Health Profession,’ ‘How to Get a State Job’ and ‘What to do After the Expo.’ Plus, many distinct valley employers will be recruiting on site, including: Pelco, Kaiser Permanente, UPS, Saint Agnes Medical Center, Fresno Unified School District, Ruiz Foods, Kraft and more.

The Expo is a product of the Mayor’s Jobs Initiative, which has connected 1,487 individuals to jobs since its inception two years ago and is the product of a long standing PRCS plan to serve valley residents who don’t have educational opportunities and life skills experience.

For additional Mayor’s Career & Education Expo information, job seekers can visit www.fresno.gov/mji or call 621-2919.
