City Asks Bulldog Fans To Be Mindful When Parking In And Around Stadium
09/06/2006

FRESNO, CA (September 6, 2006) – As Fresno State University embarks on a new season of football entertainment, Assistant City Manager, Jon Ruiz asks bulldog fans to be mindful of residence when parking their vehicles in and around Bulldog Stadium.

The first home game of the season for Fresno State left many residents living in and around bulldog stadium without access to their homes or emergency services due to those who park on the street and residential areas located west of Cedar and north and south of the stadium. These areas are zoned as ‘residential parking districts’ and parking is reserved for the residents.

Assistant City Manger/Interim Public Works Director, Jon Ruiz stated, “It is not the intent of the City to scour the area simply to write citations, but when people cannot enter or exit their homes and fire hydrants are blocked from use, it becomes a public safety hazard.”

Attendees are asked to park in the many off-street parking lots located around the stadium. Vehicles that are found in undesignated, residential parking districts will result in a citation and could be towed away.

Please be a good neighbor, park in the designated areas, and have a great time supporting the Fresno State Bulldogs.
For more information on the designated parking areas, contact City of Fresno Pubic Affairs Officer, Rhonda Jorn at (559) 621-7777 or (559) 246-9035.
