New Code Enforcement Officer Named
FRESNO , CA (January 25, 2006) – Planning and Development Director Nick Yovino is pleased to announce the appointment of Ruben Z. Diaz as Code Enforcement Manager for the City of Fresno. Mr. Diaz’ prior work experience demonstrates his commitment and compassion for community service. Mr. Diaz will begin his new position on February 1, 2006. “Rueben has an excellent balance of experience, knowledge and community relations skills that will positively serve the department and the community,” commented Nick Yovino.
The Code Enforcement Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and directing zoning and housing code enforcement, public nuisance abatement and weed abatement. Mr. Diaz will manage approximately 80 employees.
Most recently, Diaz worked for Fresno West Coalition for Economic Development. Diaz was also assistant Sheriff in Santa Clara County and a Police Commander in Foster City. As a law enforcement professional, Mr. Diaz dealt with Code Enforcement related issues, such as anti-graffiti, public nuisance abatement and weed abatement.
Diaz graduated from San Jose State University with a BS degree in Administration of Justice, a Masters Degree in Public Administration from National University and a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
