City To Provide Mid-Construction Workshop On Green Building Developments

FRESNO, CA (October 18, 2006) – The City of Fresno is partnering with a local contractor to construct a green (energy efficient) affordable, infill, single family home in southeast Fresno.

The City is hosting a free mid-construction educational workshop for contractors, developers, architects, planners and others involved in the design and construction processes to learn about emerging energy-efficient and green building products and strategies. Speakers will present and discuss the benefits of using green technologies/materials in the construction of sustainable green buildings. The workshop will also include an onsite tour of the affordable housing site and its alternative building materials.
