FRESNO, CA (October 18, 2006) – The City of Fresno is partnering with a local contractor to construct a green (energy efficient) affordable, infill, single family home in southeast Fresno. The City is hosting a free mid-construction educational workshop for contractors, developers, architects, planners and others involved in the design and construction processes to learn about emerging energy-efficient and green building products and strategies. Speakers will present and discuss the benefits of using green technologies/materials in the construction of sustainable green buildings. >more

FRESNO, CA (September 6, 2006) – As Fresno State University embarks on a new season of football entertainment, Assistant City Manager, Jon Ruiz asks bulldog fans to be mindful of residence when parking their vehicles in and around Bulldog Stadium.The first home game of the season for Fresno State left many residents living in and around bulldog stadium without access to their homes or emergency services due to those who park on the street and residential areas located west of Cedar and north and south of the stadium. These areas are zoned as ‘residential parking districts’ and parking is reserved for the residents.Assistant City Manger/Interim Public Works Director, Jon Ruiz stated, “It is not the intent of the City to scour the area simply to write citations, but when people cannot enter or exit their homes and fire hydrants are blocked from use, it becomes a public safety hazard >more

Bob Mathias, a native of Tulare, was an American decathlete, two-time Olympic gold medalist, and United States Congressman.
