City Of Fresno Announces Correction In The 2006-2007 Budget ‘Guide To Mayors Proposed Budget’
(FRESNO , CA May 22, 2006) – On Tuesday, May 16, 2006 Mayor Alan Autry presented his proposed budget for fiscal year 2006-2007.
On page 18 of the publication entitled “A Guide To The Mayor’s Proposed Budget FY 2006-2007”, the City’s Emergency Reserve Fund was misreported as $1.1 million due to a typographical error.
The actual amount of the Reserve Fund should read $11.1 million which represents five percent of the City’s General Fund.
Protecting the City’s Reserves is one of the five guiding principles that have allowed the City to not only weather the many economic challenges that fared our City and State, but to also continue to move our City forward.
“I apologize for any inconvenience or misunderstanding this error may have caused”, stated City Manager Andy Souza. “The five percent reserve of $11 million is the result of the prudent financial management and hard work of the Mayor, City Council and City staff during the last five years.”
Corrected copies of the 2006-2007 budget are being printed and will be distributed on Monday, May 29, 2006.
