Fax Trolleys Become Holly Jolly Trolleys And Provide Festive Rides Down Christmas Tree Lane

FRESNO , CA ( December 12, 2005) – The Department of Transportation/Fresno Area Express (FAX) is excited to announce its 2nd Annual Holly Jolly Trolley event that will take place on Tuesday, December 13; Wednesday, December 14; and Thursday, December 15, 2005. The Holly Jolly Trolleys will depart from Manchester Transit Center (MTC) each evening for a magical ride down Christmas Tree Lane from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Passengers will be accommodated on a first come first served basis.

Positive customer comments were received by those who rode the Holly Jolly Trolley last year. A number of longtime Fresno residents stated that because the trolleys were accessible to people with disabilities, as well as the transit dependent, many experienced the joy of the season on Christmas Tree Lane for the first time. Families who would have driven their own vehicles appreciated the convenience of parking at MTC, enjoyed the refreshments and holiday music in the boarding area, and the camaraderie shared by all.

In keeping with the holiday spirit, the fare per person for a trip on the Holly Jolly Trolley down Christmas Tree Lane will be one canned food item donated to the Salvation Army. In the event that you do not wish to donate a canned food item, FAX will accept the fare of one dollar ($1.00), or a bus pass.
