Fax Frequent 15 Fax Begins 15-Minute Service On Route 30
FRESNO , CA ( October 11, 2005) – The Department of Transportation/Fresno Area Express (FAX) is pleased to announce the implementation of 15-minute service on FAX Route 30 beginning on Monday, October 10, 2005. Route 30 will operate on 15-minute frequencies each weekday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Route 30 Blackstone corridor has been identified in the FAX Long-Range Master Plan as one of the preferred corridors for high capacity transit in the Fresno-Clovis Metropolitan Area, and “Buses Run More Frequently” was the most requested service improvement selected by respondents of the June 2005 FAX Customer Satisfaction Survey.
According to George E. Grandison, Interim Director of Transportation, “As the result of information gathered from transportation studies, and through public input, the Department sought and received grant funding from the Council of Fresno County Governments (COFCG) for the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Program. We are very excited to offer 15‑minute service to our customers on one of the most heavily traveled routes in our system.”
Serving the Chandler Airport area, through Downtown, along Blackstone Avenue, to Riverpark, FAX Route 30 will provide 15-minute frequencies, additional customer convenience, accommodate more passengers, and increase opportunities for timely route connections.
