| City Manager Andy Souza is pleased to announce that John Wallace has joined the City of Fresno beginning Monday, July 21st. John will be working as Public Affairs Officer in the City Manager's office for the final six months of Mayor Autry's term. John spent five decades working in the radio and television news industry, most recently as news anchor on local affiliates ABC 30 and CBS 47. >more |

| Effective September 2, 2008, ExpressJet will cease its intrastate air service to Long Beach, Ontario, and San Diego through Fresno Yosemite International Airport. The airline announced that it will discontinue its branded (XE) commercial passenger services due primarily to rising fuel prices which have made the operations impossible to sustain.Since its launch in April 2007, ExpressJet provided direct air service to Ontario and San Diego. >more |

| In light of the upcoming Bulldog vs Bulldog baseball matchup in Omaha beginning later today, Mayor Alan Autry has good-naturedly issued a challenge to the mayor of the city that represents the University of Georgia, Mayor Heidi Davison in Athens. In a phone conversation today, Mayor Autry offered a good natured challenge in support of the Fresno State Bulldogs bringing the NCAA Tournament trophy home to the Valley. In the spirit of good hearted competition, Mayor Autry offered to send Mayor Davison superb Central California chocolate covered raisins should the Georgia ball players overtake Fresno’s Diamond Dogs in the finals of the World Series. >more |
