Arson Investigators Arrest Homeowner for Insurance Felony Fraud

WHAT: On Friday 06/15/2007 at approximately 0249hours, fire crews were dispatched to a residential structure fire at 2106 N Fruit. Upon examination of the fire scene arson investigators determined that multiple fire origins were identified inside and outside the residence, including a vehicle parked in the backyard. Ignitable liquid was identified as the material first ignited. At the time, homeowner Jason Morgan, sustained burns and reported he had been assaulted by an unidentified man, possibly gang members. A follow-up investigation has led to the arrest of the homeowner Jason Morgan. Suspect Morgan has been charged with 2 felony counts of Arson and two counts of Insurance fraud.
