Fresno Fire Partners with AT&T to Deliver Smoke Detectors to Your Community
11/02/2007

Fresno, CA (November 2, 2007) – On Saturday, November 3, the Fresno Fire Department & AT&T Pioneers will be installing smoke alarms in the Jefferson Elementary School neighborhood (202 N Mariposa St.). The smoke detectors are provided by the Fresno Fire Chief’s Foundation and Burn Aware. Volunteers will be installing smoke detectors in homes where children reside or stay the night. Additionally, Burn Aware is supplying spare batteries to ensure existing smoke detectors are working properly.

The AT&T Pioneers are a dynamic group of active and retired AT&T employees working to enhance the communities where they live and work. With nearly 350,000 members strong in the United States and Canada, they donated more than 14.3 million hours of personal time to community outreach activities and more than $257 million worth of volunteer time in 2006.

Volunteers will gather at Jefferson Elementary at 8:00 am and begin installing smoke alarms at 8:30 a.m. until approximately 12 p.m. Local media are invited to attend the event.
