Officer Eric Santos Update:Officer Remains in ICU, Condition Improves

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer would like to update the media and the public on the condition of Officer Eric Santos.
Officer Santos' condition has been upgraded from critical to serious and stable. Officer Santos is suffering from numerous fractures and will spend at least the next week in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Community Regional Medical Center.
Chief Dyer, the Santos family, and the entire Department would like to thank the public for their concerns and prayers as the seventh officer in the past 12 months recovers from near-fatal injuries while on duty.
There are no updates to the investigation at this time. The identity of the driver involved in the collision with Officer Santos is not being released at this time.
