SCADA SYSTEM AND INFORMATION CONTOL
The Network and Control Team
We operate and maintain the Water Division's SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) System and the Division's LAN (Local Area Network.
Our system consists of:
- Three HP NetServers running MS Windows NT and USData's Factorylink SCADA software.
- Supervisory Control - At each well site, there is a small controller that reads inputs such as flow, pressure, water level, power usage, etc. It then makes decisions based on programmed logic whether or not to start or stop the pump.
- Data Acquisition - The controllers at each site communicate back to HP NetServers via radio where the pressure, flow, etc. is logged to a database.
- From there, we can make judgments based on cost and other factors. If water is needed, we can turn on the most cost effective well to meet demands in any specific area around Fresno.
