In October of 2005, the Fresno City Council passed an ordinance that requires businesses and multi-family complexes to recycle at each location.
Staff is on hand to help your business or apartment complex add recycling containers. The representative that comes to your business will assist you in determining where the containers can be placed and inform you of the benefits of recycling for your business or apartment complex.
3 Easy Steps to Start a Recycling Program at Work:
1. Evaluate Your Waste
Many things thrown away at work can be recycled. Trash accumulates in cafeterias, lounges, vending machine areas, maintenance areas, storage areas and more. Recycling staff will evaluate your entire office to help you determine what’s recyclable. If you would like a representative to come to your business, please call 621-1111 and we will set up a time to meet at your business.
2. Create a Recycling Program
Our staff will help you determine which bin and pick-up schedule are right for your company. They will also assist with the placement of containers within your office, as well as metal bins outside your office.
3. Educate Your Employees and your Janitorial Staff (if you use an outside service)
Our staff will help! It’s important that everyone learns the policies, procedures and goals of your company’s program. Publicizing the program’s success and creating incentives to recycle will increase support.
