Ban Single-Use Batteries From Your Life - Purchase Re-Chargeable

Batteries contain poisons that can be harmful to humans and the environment. In 1996 the Battery Act was passed making it illegal to throw batteries into the trash.
Rechargeable batteries can be charged up to 1,500 times before they need to be replaced. Once they need to be disposed of you can take them back to the store you purchased them at and they will be disposed of for free.
Single-use batteries CAN NOT be taken back to most area stores. One option for recycling them is to bring them to one of the two Household Hazardous Waste Events held every year. Call Fresno County at (559) 262-4259 or visit their Website for more information.
Another option is to bring them to one of the Fresno area businesses that now accept small household amounts of CFL bulbs and Batteries. Please Click Here to see the list.
A great way to Green your home - Buy Re-chargeable batteries!
