The Fresno Police Department values highly the trust of the community and the various news organizations that serve the central valley. Working closely with news agencies is one way to help keep the public informed of ongoing crimes, scams, issues if traffic safety and other events that affect the lives or our citizens. News releases will be posted to our web site to help keep the public up to date on current relevant issues.

Public Information Office
The 24-hour per day news cycle of the electronic age increases the need for up-to-the-minute information. The Fresno Police Department Public Information Office fulfills the public’s need to know. This office provides a timely response to all media and citizen inquiries regarding the Department, maintains a working knowledge of any current news items that may affect the Department or the law enforcement profession and coordinates all public appearances of Department personnel. The office is responsible for answering all media and citizen correspondence and advises staff of any current news items that are law enforcement-related. Fresno Police Department's Public Information Officers are Jeff Cardinale and Cynthia Valdez.
