YOUTH RECLAIM HISTORIC BUILDING: The Graffiti Bureau and YouthBuild will reclaim Locan School

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer would like to announce the efforts of the Fresno Police Department Graffiti Bureau and YouthBuild to reclaim the historic Locan School.
The project was initiated by Mayor Alan Autry. The Graffiti Bureau is supplying the paint and equipment, while YouthBuild and other volunteers are supplying the labor.
The property located at 7249 E. Kings Canyon Road is also known as the Hagopian Center, and was used for community events. The property has fallen into disuse in the past decade. During that time, taggers have covered it almost completely with graffiti.
The event is scheduled to commence on March 28, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. Councilmember Mike Dages is expected to attend the event at 10:30 a.m.
YouthBuild is a program of the Fresno County Economic Opportunities Commission.
