03/12/2008
Police Chief Jerry Dyer is announcing new details regarding a commercial burglary series occurring in the City of Fresno.

Working on a Crime Stoppers tip, officers arrested 21-year-old Adolph Coronado at a local motel in the Central Policing District. Coronado was arrested this morning at 3:45 and was taken into custody without incident. Coronado is a Bulldog gang member and was a parolee at large.

The Fresno Police Department has identified a second suspect. He is 41-year-old Socorro Garcia Rios, a validated Norteno gang member.

One of the latest burglaries occurred Thursday night (3/6) in Southeast Fresno at the Ventura Market located at 3232 E. Ventura where the suspects were caught on video surveillance. Since February 25, 2008, twenty-eight burglaries have occurred throughout the city, with most occurring in the Central Policing District. In all cases, a large river rock the size of a bowling ball was used to enter the business where the thieves took small items and cash from registers.

Business owners are being asked to be aware of this series and anyone with information leading to the arrest of Socorro Rios can remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at 498-STOP where tipsters can receive up to a $1000 reward.
