BODY FOUND - UPDATE: Victim Identified, Homicide Not Suspected

Police Chief Jerry Dyer would like to update the media on a body found this weekend in the Northeast Policing District.
On August 9, 2008 at approximately 9:20 P.M., a citizen reported a possible body found in the alley behind 3041 E. Saginaw. Officers arrived and discovered a deceased female, now identified as Charelene Joyce Amparano, Hispanic female adult, DOB 3/6/57 (booking photos attached).
The Fresno Police Department investigation has revealed that Amparano had just been released from the Valley State Prison for Women on August 3 and was on parole for possession of narcotics.
The coroner has concluded there were no signs of physical trauma or signs of struggle. Investigators are still awaiting the results of toxicology tests. At this time, Amparano’s death is not being classified as a homicide.
