07/31/2008
Police Chief Jerry Dyer is proud to announce the arrest of a suspect wanted for attempted homicide in Wisconsin.
On September 21, 2006, a shooting occurred at a motel in Menasha, Wisconsin, in which three victims were wounded. Chuckie N. Vang, 24 years old, was identified as the shooter. Officials believe that Vang went to the motel intending to collect a drug debt.
Vang’s case was featured on America’s Most Wanted on April 19, 2008. After Vang’s case aired, two anonymous tips to the show stated Vang was in Fresno.
On July 30, 2008, special agents from the F.B.I. along with detectives from the Fresno Police Department conducted surveillance at a residence located in the 5200 block of East Clay Avenue.
Later that evening, an off-duty Fresno Police officer on his way home, drove by the residence and saw an Asian male resembling Vang standing on the front porch. The F.B.I. and Fresno Police quickly setup a perimeter around the residence and Vang ultimately surrendered without incident.
Vang was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail. The Menasha Police Department, and special agents form the F.B.I. were notified about Vang’s arrest.
