Officer Santos Released from Hospital
07/30/2007
Police Chief Jerry Dyer is pleased to announce that Traffic Enforcement Officer Eric Santos is being released from Community Regional Medical Center this morning. Chief Dyer would like to thank everyone who prayed and sent well wishes to Officer Santos, his family and the Fresno Police Department.
Officer Santos was injured in a collision with a motorist on July 12. Officer Santos spent four days in the Intensive Care Unit and more than two weeks in the hospital. Officer Santos will remain off-duty for some time while he recovers from his injuries.
Officer Santos will make a brief statement to the media this morning at 11 A.M. Channel 26 will act as the pool camera, KMJ Reporter Dennis Hart will ask questions and provide a radio pool and the Fresno Bee will take still photography pictures. Please contact Kim Quintero at 453-8850 for video dub arrangements.
As he is discharged, officers from the Traffic Enforcement Bureau will escort Officer Santos and his family from the hospital. All media is invited to record this; time, location still being worked out. I will coordinate getting that information to you as soon as I receive it.
Please contact Public Information Officer Jeff Cardinale at 621-2486 or 978-9687 (cell) with any media inquiries.
