Neighborhood Success Story
05/15/2007
Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer is proud to announce a neighborhood success story.
For decades, the Jefferson-Lowell area in Central Fresno has generated the highest number of calls for service in the entire city; many of those calls were Priority "0" life-threatening calls for service.
The City of Fresno is enjoying a 35-year low in crime and the Jefferson-Lowell area is one of the neighborhoods showing a dramatic decrease in crime and calls for service.
Among the many crime decreases, aggravated assaults in the Jefferson-Lowell area are down 18% and auto thefts are down 33% (2002 vs. 2006).
