NON-EMERGENCY LINE BRIEFLY DOWN 9-1-1 not affected by temporary outage
11/13/2007
Police Chief Jerry Dyer would like to inform the public about a brief malfunction with the Fresno Police Department's non-emergency line, 621-7000.
From approximately 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, the non-emergency line was down. Anyone who called the non-emergency line during that time received a busy signal. Technicians from the City of Fresno and AT & T worked to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
Emergency calls placed to 9-1-1 were never interrupted and those calls were answered as they came into dispatch. The call load to 9-1-1 did not increase significantly with the malfunction of 621-7000.
As a reminder, some non-emergency calls for service can also be addressed on the Police Department website
www.fresno.gov/police under the "Report a Crime" tab on the main page.
