NEW HIGH TECH TOOL IN MISSING PERSON CASESCases could be solved with one click
11/30/2007
Police Chief Jerry Dyer would like to announce a new high-tech crime fighting tool for missing person cases.
Often times in missing person cases, the first few minutes of an investigation are critical.
To help quickly inform the public of missing person cases, the Fresno Police Department has developed a Missing Persons webpage. This on-line tool is the first of its kind in the Central Valley.
The web page displays some of the department’s active missing person cases. Each contains a photograph, description and details surrounding the person’s disappearance.
Website viewers can click on any of the cases and print out a poster containing all of the information.
The Fresno Police Department is tasked with handling well over 4,000 missing person cases each year.
The missing person web page can be viewed by going to www.fresno.gov/police and clicking on the “City of Fresno Missing Persons” tab in the middle of the page.
